News from Within:
- DSI was recognized by Inc. for inclusion in the Inc. 5,000. The Inc. 5,000 took a comprehensive look at the entrepreneurial engine driving the U.S. economy to determine who would make their list of fastest growing private companies in America.
For the third year in a row, DSI has been designated part of the Philadelphia 100®. The Philadelphia 100® was founded in 1988 to publicly identify, recognize, and promote young successful companies in the Greater Philadelphia region. As one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the ten county Philadelphia region, DSI joins just 8 other companies this year that have been recognized 3 times or more.
- Patti Owens has recently joined DSI as the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. To better serve DSI's clients as the company continues to grow, Patti offers a tremendous track record in bringing new products to market, developing growth strategies, and positioning both small and large companies for long term success. Her career includes positions with P&G, Goldman Sachs, SEI, Bryn Mawr Trust, and PNC. She has a B.A. in English from Princeton University and a MBA from the Harvard Business School. Decision Strategies International also welcomes the addition of Ron LaSalvia as Senior Consultant to further support DSI's growth. Ron brings years of strategy experience to DSI through managing his own strategy and leadership consulting company as well as serving in the Chief of Naval Operations’ Strategy and Policy Branch as a strategic planner. Ron holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, where he focused in Decision Science and Systems Dynamics. Ron is also currently attending the MBA Program for Executives at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
- DSI and its partner Strategic Radar recently introduced a new web service that helps clients capture and collaborate on key market signals from numerous, distinct information sources uniquely filtered for each client. The biggest dangers for many organizations are ones they do not see coming. However, there are plenty of weak signals on the periphery that, in retrospect, held clues to what was going to happen. Our new offering, the Strategic Radar Scanning Library, includes automatic email alerts, web log commentary, and management escalation features. The result is a solution that helps reduce surprises and see opportunities sooner for competitive advantage. Contact Jack May, may@strategicradar.com, to learn more.
- Paul J.H. Schoemaker's book Peripheral Vision, co-authored with George S. Day, received another positive review, this time in Marketing Management magazine. Look for the article "Sign Unseen" written by R.M. (Erik) Gordon in the September/October 2007 issue on page 51.
