Dr. Paul Schoemaker, Chairman and CEO of DSI, spoke at the annual Wharton Entrepreneurship Conference. As a part of a panel focusing on "Managing Emerging Technologies," Dr. Schoemaker and the other panelists detailed the latest trends in emerging technologies as well as the steps necessary to move from emerging technology concepts to emerging technology commercialization.
DSI's scenario planning approach was featured in the article “The CLO’s Role in Future Scenario Planning” from Chief Learning Officer magazine. Reviewing a session with Dr. Roch Parayre of DSI, the article discusses examples and methodologies of scenario planning from Dr. Paul Schoemaker's book Profiting from Uncertainty and the impact scenario planning can have for a CLO.
Harvard Business Review published "Scanning the Periphery," an article co-authored by Drs. Paul Schoemaker and George Day, in the November 2005 issue. The article presents a framework for peripheral vision to help recognize threats that start as weak signals from the periphery of an industry. Andreas Koch joined the DSI Team as a senior consultant. Andreas will be our first consultant operating out of the West Coast from Palo Alto. As DSI's Director of Telecommunications, IT and Media, Andreas brings 13 years of experience in strategy, M & A and corporate strategic planning, and 9 years of experience in the telecommunications, media and IT space. He has held senior positions in top-tier strategy consulting firms and Fortune 100 corporations. Some of his previous clients include Verizon, Universal Studios, Siemens, Universal Music Group, Warner Bros., Equant, Road Runner as well as major Private Equity groups such as KKR and Investcorp.
Toomas Truumees joins the Philadelphia area team as a senior consultant. He brings over a decade of experience in corporate strategy and business development to DSI. Prior to joining the firm, Toomas worked as a consultant for The Monitor Group in New York, and has held a number of executive level positions in start-up ventures. His clients include Coca-Cola, News Corp, AT&T, Merck, Heineken International, Polo/Ralph Lauren, and Fruit of the Loom. Recently, Toomas has specialized in assisting pre-IPO size organizations with strategic growth management and implementation.
