A Year of Growth
Decision Strategies International, Inc. has experienced another year of solid growth. We completed a number of high impact projects with leading companies, including 24 Fortune 1000 firms, and continued to expand our organization. In 2004, we added new strengths in a variety of areas, including:
- Telecommunications, Technology and Media: The hiring of Tom Oser, Ph.D. as Consulting Practice Leader for the Telecommunications, Technology and Media (TTM) industries. Tom has a background in operations management and engineering in the telecommunications industry, as well as a decade of consulting experience in management and technology for Fortune 500 clients.
- Latin America: The addition of Bernardo Sichel as Director of Latin America to the DSI team. Bernardo has extensive experience consulting for local, regional and multinational companies in Latin America in the consumer goods, telecommunications and financial services industries. Bernardo has an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
- Change Management: The joining of Luis Santana as Senior Consultant for Change Management & Implementation. He has consulted and conducted executive training workshops across four continents on leadership development, change management, organizational development, negotiation, decision making, team building, and managing cultural differences. Luis holds MBA degrees from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid, Spain and the University of Chicago.
- Non-Profits and Biosciences: Expanding our efforts in the non-profit space with consulting for several major government agencies as well as the continuation of our scenario work on the future of the biosciences with the Mack center at the Wharton School. We shall present some of this research at the international convention of BIO 2005 in June in Philadelphia.
DSI has also continued to make an impact through high-profile speeches, presentations and publications:
- Paul Schoemaker, Ph.D., was the opening speaker at the FORTUNE Innovation Forum in New York, where he was followed by Warren Buffet. Earlier in the year, Paul conducted a 2 day seminar at the World Business Forum in Argentina where he was joined via telecast by former president Bill Clinton, Rudolf Giuliani, and Jack Welch.
- Roch Parayre, Ph.D., gave major keynotes and high-profile seminars across the world to ever larger audiences. For a taste of Roch’s dynamic speaking style, visit www.thinkdsi.com. Also, Michael Mavaddat continued to deepen our consulting practice and Scott Snyder, Ph.D. provided invaluable leadership to our firm in 2004.
- Our continued research on peripheral vision and strategic monitoring conducted by Paul Schoemaker together with George Day from Wharton. This work will be part of their forthcoming book Peripheral Vision: Learning To Anticipate Risks and See Opportunities Faster. We invite you to take our Peripheral Vision test at our website www.thinkdsi.com and benchmark yourself against other organizations.
Looking forward, we shall continue to offer innovative products and services that help improve the quality of strategic thinking and decision making in organizations. In the near future, DSI will be offering an exciting capability for organizations to monitor the external environment dynamically in order to adjust their strategies and tactics in real time.
