Bernardo Sichel

Bernardo Sichel serves as the Managing Director of Consulting Services for Decision Strategies International (DSI). His main areas of interest are strategy and innovation, specifically strategy development under high levels of uncertainty and effective business model design and implementation in emerging markets.

Mr. Sichel has extensive experience consulting in North America, Latin America and Europe in the consumer goods, telecommunications, health care, manufacturing and financial industries. He has conducted work in the areas of growth strategy, corporate vision, strategic risk management, organizational development and restructuring, among others. Some selected clients include: Microsoft, Pfizer, DuPont, Conoco-Phillips, John Deere, Textron, Trane, Coca-Cola Company, SC Johnson, Danone, National Grid, Chubb & Son, New York Life, Cargill, Empresas Polar, GSK Latina and Telecom Italia Mobile, among others.

Mr. Sichel is the author of several articles including "Planning and decision making in times of uncertainty" which appeared on Prism (2003), Arthur D. Little's management journal, "Strategic options: transforming strategic insight into competitive advantage", “Value Innovation for the Bottom of the Pyramid”, and “Strategic Risk Management”. He has also led a study to understand the characteristics of effective business models in the consumer goods' industry in emerging markets.

Mr. Sichel worked for Procter & Gamble and Arthur D. Little before joining the firm. At the latter he was the head of strategy and organization for the Latin American region and a member of the Prism Board. He holds an Economics degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School. He is proficient in English and Spanish, and has basic knowledge of Portuguese.
