Ron LaSalvia
Senior Consultant


Ron LaSalvia is a Senior Consultant with Decision Strategies International, Inc. He leads adaptive strategic planning projects within DSI’s consulting practice, helping clients develop strategies for success in a dynamic and uncertain future. Ron’s extensive leadership experience enables him to help teams develop executable strategies that are embraced by the organization. His background in both government and business, working with small organizations and large staffs, brings a broad perspective and understanding that helps to translate a strategic vision into a roadmap for success.

Ron has over 24 years of experience in the United States Navy, where he commanded two nuclear powered fast attack submarines. He served as a strategic planner in the Chief of Naval Operations’ Strategy and Policy Branch, earning a Navy subspecialty in strategic planning. During his last military assignment, Ron managed the process for development of future strategic and tactical capabilities on the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Prior to joining DSI, Ron managed his own strategy and leadership consulting company, where he worked with technology companies to develop strategy and solve challenging leadership, alignment, communication and organizational development issues. Ron partnered with DSI on the development of a repeatable and adaptive strategic planning process for the United States Navy and subsequently joined DSI as a senior consultant.

Ron holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, where he focused in Decision Science and Systems Dynamics. Ron is currently attending the MBA Program for Executives at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed the first year with honors. Ron has been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, three Meritorious Service Medals and numerous other military decorations.
