Ron LaSalvia
Chief Operating Officer Ron LaSalvia is the Chief Operating Officer of Decision Strategies International, Inc. He directs DSI's operations and leads adaptive strategic planning projects within DSI's consulting practice, helping clients develop strategies for success in a dynamic and uncertain future. Mr. LaSalvia's extensive leadership experience enables him to help teams develop executable strategies that are embraced by the organization. Having worked both in government and business, with small organizations and large staffs, he brings a broad perspective and understanding that helps to translate a strategic vision into a roadmap for success. Mr. LaSalvia served in the United States Navy for over 24 years, where he commanded two nuclear powered fast attack submarines. As a strategic planner in the Chief of Naval Operations' Strategy and Policy Branch, he earned a Navy subspecialty in strategic planning. During his last military assignment, Mr. LaSalvia managed the process for development of future strategic and tactical capabilities on the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Prior to joining DSI, Mr. LaSalvia managed his own strategy and leadership consulting company, where he worked with technology companies to develop strategy and solve challenging leadership, alignment, communication and organizational development issues. Mr. LaSalvia is holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors. He was designated a Palmer Scholar at Wharton, the school's highest academic honor, awarded to the top 5% of the class. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, where he focused in Decision Science and Systems Dynamics. He has been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, three Meritorious Service Medals and numerous other military decorations. |
